EW INTERVIEWS GUEST-STAR TIMOTHY DALTON!

1 November 2010,
EW.com has just released an interview with tonight's Chuck guest-star, Timothy Dalton. Read the Q&A below and the full article Here.

EW: What can you tell us about your character on Chuck?

Dalton: You’ve got to forgive me, but I’m going to be careful here. I want there to be surprises! Within the framework of what this series is all about, my character, Tuttle, is in the spy world, but he’s not an agent. He’s not a trained spy. He’s not someone who goes out into the field. He’s more of a bureaucrat as it were, but he’s called a handler. You could tell he might have wanted to be a spy, but he never made it. He wasn’t good enough. He might have been a wannabe, though, or still is a wannabe.

i think the thing that mama showed to chuck didnt take out the intersect, it actually fully merged it with him so there is no need to flash - its now HIS skill

easily top 10 ep ever

Anonymous on November 2, 2010 at 4:20 PM

Per fas et nefas means "Through right and wrong"

another excellent episode, i think the thing that mmama showed to chuck was an intersect upgrade, maybe containing all the orion's work, or something that let chuck skip the flash thing...

Pol,I hope you're right...
because it would be so unfair to leave Chuck so unprotected and I liked his oportunities so musch!
I just can't imagine him hiding behind Sarah's back again..

2 weeks.. it's just too cruel!! :(

i like chuck's new intersect-kungfu-guitar playing-awesomeness, but it is at this point in my opinion taking away from the tv show as far as humor is concerned. I think the show was better when it was "damsel in distress" "stay in the car" chuck, rather than "No more Mr. Nice Spy" Chuck. i think most of america, who aren't the diehards that still watch like us, are thinking the same thing. they want to see the story of an everyman like them who they can relate to. Not some action-packing girl-getting spy like chuck is now. i found the show better when you were constantly hoping chuck would get the chance to do these things. but now that he's actually doing them, it's not so great. That's why i was happy when wheelwright made chuck helpless again. THAT WAS HILARIOUS! I miss weak chuck. I hope that the intersect 2.0 skillz r gone. It'll get us our viewers back and make the show funnier. The only takeaway is less chuck-fu, which i will not miss. Got my fill in chuck vs. the Cubic Z. Or as i like to call it, Chuck vs. Steve Austin's revenge.

Hope to see chuck in the car once more. Want to see Jill come back just 1 more time. Jordana Brewster was best guest yet. Bring in Vin Diesel and I'll be really happy.

What do you guys think. Do you prefer new chuck or old chuck?

J,actually I was thinking the same thing some time ago..I thought I whant old, nerdy Chuck back, but NOW,when he have really lost his skills I'm not so sure about it anymore..
OK! Maybe it would bring some nostalgia and that's kind of nice but then I want new Chuck back again.. :)

The show needs to evolve but I still like the old Chuck - hopefully the writers won't go too far out there with their vision of what they think Chuck should be that we lose our CHUCK - if they come to a balance of the old and new I think that Chuck could be around for a long time - But when direction changes like for example S3 when Shaw entered the picture why why why - sorry for those who liked Shaw but seriously what was his true intentions Beckman just agreed and let him take over and look where that took S3 - the writers woke up and got Chuck and Sarah back together and S3 was rescused - S4 is doing ok and with episode like 4.07 it is going to be good - Chuck has lost the intersect but look under the seat the updated one is there - we should freak out yet - we have 24 wonderful episodes to enjoy

i agree with you anonymous
24 episodes
we are at number 7

I have a feeling chuck is about to go to the next level 2.5

I like the new Chuck, but I've watched him "grow up" through every episode. And he still isn't all spy, and I love that Chuck and Sarah are together solving the world's problems and I love that Morgan is on the missions now too. The show is the best thing on TV

THX for agreeing, anonymous. I'll want new chuck back as well, but after a season or two. I still want old chuck. for those of you other then he, who seems to understand where I'm coming from, watch some episodes like Chuck vs. the Truth, Chuck vs. the Best Friend, Chuck vs. the Seduction, Chuck vs. the Crown vic and Chuck vs. the Sizzling Shrimp. Then watch some of the newer season 4 episodes with Awesome chuck. Who are you rooting for more? Which is more entertaining?

The chuck who is a lot like you, who has a small chance of getting this really hot girl who is conveniently at your local wienerlicious, who still hangs out with his stupid, unsuccessful slacker best friend, who is striving to someday become assistant manager, and who always has to Stay in the car...

or some random spy who already has a hot girlfriend, whose love situation is the exact same every episode, who is structured, organized, and knows what he wants to do with his life; who works FOR his best friend out of a secret base that is way too Hi-tech and who can kick some ass... but its the same ass-kicking over and over again. Oh and there's a funny line or two.

Make that decision!

Don't get me wrong, Chuck is still #1 for me, but really the show isn't CHUCK anymore. The show was originally designed to put a computer nerd, (a realistic one), a twenty-something with no life into an out of the ordinary situation. You know, that's still what the show is. Only it's MORGAN, not CHUCK. that's why i didn't like Chuck vs. the Couch Lock, because it was a Morgan episode. It was VERY VERY funny. But I want to see chuck doing those things, not morgan. Chuck is supposed to be the nerd. Well, he's not a nerd no more.

the rating problems that the show had made the characters of the show ,and especially Chuck evolve too fast...somewhere I read that the kung-fu flashing ability would be given to him at the end of season 3! so we would have 1 more season(19 episodes+) of nerdy chuck...I really miss old nerdy-smart chuck but at this point you can't go back ...as he said to sarah, back then he didn't know what he wanted to be,with whom he wanted to be..but know he knows,he want's to be a spy,for his own reasons, maybe to keep sarah...
So taking out the Intersect won't make him again a nerd!he has a target now!of course I'd love to see what he is going to do without the intersect for a couple of episodes..we are still on episode 7..
on the other hand I can't imagine chuck not flashing,as someone stated.
I believe though, that the writers could add some smart-nerdy behavior to chuck and morgan;)!that would make me happy!:D

J on November 4, 2010 at 6:32 AM

eleni, whoever u are, your cool.

She understands!

Yeah, Josh Schwartz said that the original idea was to not have chuck get any abilities from the intersect at all, but then when the ratings strated to go down mid-season 2, they had to give out a game-changer. The Intersect 2.0 was it.

One thing you sad was wrong eleni. Who says we can't go back? I have faith in the writers, who have worked wonders up to this point. Rafe Judkins is my favorite. He's a newbie who wrote the best episodes of this season so far, vs. the Suitcase, and vs. the First Fight. They weren't necessarily the BEST, but were the most classic chuck, episodes that captured the true feel of the show.

My fav was the Aisle of Terror, but that's just cause i love the combo of Robert Englund and Jeffster's mad creation.

I think they can't change chuck's new mental stable sate, but they can make him hide behind sarah's back and wear the Nerd Herd costume more.

Chuck will go back to what it was before now that the intersect is broken. I'm just using that word until we know whats really wrong, don't attack me.
