Spoilers on Chuck's father, Stephen Bartowski...
Q: More ‘Chuck’ scoop, please!
A: The very good news this season, of course, is that Linda Hamilton is playing Chuck and Ellie’s mother. The bad news is that my speculation that Chuck’s father (played by Scott Bakula) somehow faked his death last spring probably won’t come true. “He’s dead, unfortunately,” Ryan McPartlin asserts. “And you know why he’s dead? Because you have to make that threat real. The same thing happened with [the ill-fated Buy More manager played by] Tony Hale. And it literally breaks our heart.” - Fancast.

I beleive that if they seem it fit later, they could write into the story line his rebirth, seeing how he died right next to a cellular regeneration center.
"Ill fated Buy More manager" as in Emmet Milbarge?
If Steven Bartowski returns it'll only be in flash-back form, otherwise it'll just be too much.(though Bakula is awesome) One resurection (Shaw) on the show was quite enough.
i know! i absolutley hate shaw. he almost ruins everything.
well, we're supposed to hate Shaw, yes? I think some of the best villians are the ones written so well that we really do hate them. hehe.
Agreed, the writers did such a good job developing Shaw as a traitor and rival love interest for Sarah that when Chuck wins its just that much more satisfying.
No, the best villains are the ones that make you love them, but ultimately in order for the hero to prevail, the villain must have their demise.
I would like to see "Dad Bartowski" as a computer program!!!
Chuck's dad is dead.
There is proof: his governer broke when he fell :. he can't stay alive
i was really hoping that Steven B. was faking his death!! Oh well. I really hated Emmet in season three even though he only maded it through the first episode.
I really, really want Chuck's father to be alive. When he is blown up in the helicopter he says "I've died many times". Steven is the reason that Chuck is so down to earth and smart. I just want to see his character return. I love the guidance he gives Chuck and love the witty dialogue between Chuck and him.
