We all know that it is ellie's and awesome's anniversary and chuck is off being a spy looking for his mother and cannot make it to the party so ellie knows something is going on!
perhaps Bryce is back and it happens to coincide with the anniversary of chuck and sarah?
Don't forget the sour anniversay of the Morgan/Anna split. There are still lots of questions to that, and Julia Ling did briefly appear as Anna Wu in 3:16 for some logic in the Chuck storyline.

i think it could the anniversary of ellie n devon, but chuck, sarah, casey, morgon n devon have to go on a mission n ellie is left by herself n works out what is happening, but the anniversary of chucks parents is more likely.

after chuck's dad aka orion saves him self with shaws cell regenerating mashine he goes to see what happens to chuck and that dad is his and chucks moms aniverery and elle and devone's. orion reveils something new about the interct to chuck and gets chuck to leave without sarah and casey(who chuck didnt tell about his dad's finale message)after breaking through a lot of bad dudes and orion leaveing as a distraction chuck enters the room were his mother supose to be in but then she graps him from behind in a chokeing position from the shadows turns him around and sees its chuck with his new found ability he acidental flashes on his mom who is a high members of a new bad guy organisation she trys to take him with her in a plane but chucks dad got on after freeing chuck puting a parashute on him he gives chucks mom a long kiss and he and chuck jump out of the plane landing in chucks court yard and give elle the best aniversery present ever seeing her dad alive after watching him die. at the end elle yells at chuck for being a spy again then there is a nock at the dore elle opens it and its chucks mom and the episode ends.
It's a Flashback lead-in ... the anniversary of Chuck's discovery of the "BatCave" ... alot has happened in the year since, lots of opportunities for the writers to come up with interesting side stories ... just 0.02 ...

The big thing that just happened at the end of season 3 is Chucks memory of him and his sister being told by Orion that they can accomplish anything if they work together. The anniversary could refer to Anna coming back, or their parents anniversary or even the anniversary of when their mother left them. It could even be something completely off the wall as Jill's anniversary party. Whatever it is, I think that it has to include the fact that Chuck and his sister are working together. An appropriate response might be mothers day. I know we have already had one mothers day in the series but maybe they need to make a new mothers day. The anniversary of when their mother left. Could it be the anniversary of something bigger? Maybe it is the anniversary of when Chucks mother had to dissapear to protect something to do with Chucks sister. Just spit-balling.
Definitely something with Chuck's mom b/c I remember seeing the back of some woman in the underground lab at the end of season 3, though kudos to "MACEMONETA" who had the "Anna-versary" idea, very clever
We assume that that is Chucks mother because the braclet she is wearing is the other half to the one that Chuck finds in his fathers private base.
i think its Chuck and Sarah anniversary but then a bunch of thngts happens that they can't celebrate because they have a mission to go to and on that mission things turn ugly.

Since the episode titles usually have a double meaning it could be a wide variety of things all at the same time. I like the Anna idea but I doubt it would be the main premise of the episode.
Being a season opener the main story line has to progress somehow. This being said, it very well be Chuck and Sarah's anniversary of something. What though, first meeting, first kiss, first mission, first time as Mr. and Mrs. Carmichael? Who can really say?
One thing that is a given though. Chucks going to flash on something and miss the anniversary. Sarah is going to have no idea why since he isn't sharing any information with her so that he can protect her. Something ridiculous is going to happen, and god forbid, the relationship may be strained. I know, I don't what it to happen, but it's a possibility.

Right on Anon. I have always had a hard time finding heroes to look up to but the first time since I was 5(20 years later), I have a hero. The character Chuck played by Zachery Levi deserves the life that he wants but I don't want to lose my hero either. If the chuck series can continue for another 5 years at least, I would be a happy Nerd.

WEll I think its Chucks birthday, since the show runs with more and less´our day count.
The pilot was on September, we all know it started with Chucks birthday, and like the first episode of Season 4 is set more and less mids September this year( I heard its maybe 09/20) its probablthat the anniversary is the of chucks, and cause he met Sarah one day after that, it might be also the day C/S first met, I think it would be awesome!!

I don't really have a theory but don't forget that Shaw is NOT dead. He was taken into custody 'cause Chuck wouldn't kill him again but Shaw said 'you have to do it. you have to kill me.' nothing too suspicious but I have a feeling we'll be seeing him again.
I don't know... I think things have to culminate further. Chuck symbolically already defeated Shaw. I think a new challenge has to arrive with his whole family knowing the truth and whoever has his mother.
what about the anniversary of John Casey with his wife. His daughter is back.... something has to happen with that....

I rewatched season one and think it has to be the anniversary of ellie and Devons marriage. It would be a great place to show the famillies adapting to the life brought on by everyone knowing that chuck is a spy.
ms.canada invades burbank and tracks down morgan to find that he is helping awesome with his anniversary gift for ellie and chuck, sarah, and john casey will have to take down their new nemesis.
I think there will be more than one way the tittle will fit into the story (like in many of the episodes). So maybe it will be Ellie and awesome's AND maybe the anniversary of something bigger, something more into the spy world.

Whoever said Bryce can't come back because he is dead.... Although we saw him shot and appear to die, we didn't see what happened after. He's already been resurrected once... Who's to say it can't happen again??
It is not that he is dead but that they would need a really good reason for bringing him back to life. If they do this too many times then death will be meaningless in this series.
Mabye the anniversary of Morgain and Alex (Casey's daughter). You never know :P

I think that its the anniversary of Chuck and Sarah. Like how the 3rd season started 6 months later, this could be a whole year later.

Chuck is working outside the government now, so he is not a super-spy - but a super-hero!
Sarah is still in the CIA. This means that there would still be cooperation, as well as pressure to keep secrets from each other - whilst trying to keep tags on each other too!
Tension between them for sure! As long as they dont break the relationship - we waited for long enough for them to get together as it was!
Clearly there is another storyline with Casey/Alex/Morgan, it would be fun to see Anna back into the mix - if not as a freshly recruited agent then as a love rival for Morgan. Hey maybe Casey recruits Anna to drive a wedge between Alex and Morgan?
Then of course there is the 'main' story - Chuck's family. Maybe Ellie has to step up and start working with Chuck, rather than trying to warn him off all the spy stuff?

Anniversary? Well it could be an anniversary for anything! It's probably about Chuck's family, because that's obviously what the plot is kind of going to this season. Maybe something about chuck's mom, he accidentally flashes on somebody and it said something about his mom. And like AMRUN HAFEY said, maybe it's the anniversary of that.
OR it could be Chuck and Sara's anniversary, the day they met. They have their anniversary and chuck can't come for some reason...like something to do with his mom?
Who knows? There's already so many ideas on here, and so many possibilities on what this title means...
Wasn't one of the first few episodes called the first date? Maybe it is the anniversary of chuck and sarah's first date. kind of a stretch but i still can't wait to see where they take it.
i totally agree with momma bartowski leaving anniversary. remember from the season 3 finale, chuck versus the ring part II? at the very end of the episode, chuck is seen in the basement of their old household, in which his deceased father had given him clues to. now, at the very ending, we see chuck holding the missing half of his mother's charm bracelet, while simultaneously,a woman, perhaps chuck & ellie's mother, wearing the remainder of the charm bracelet. This now brings us to the conclusion, 'what is chuck going to do?'. Maybe Chuck will go out in search of his mother? [kind of like chuck looking for his father in season 2] Maybe the entire 4th season will revolve around chuck looking for his mother.
The most important thing: The father is alive!! Chuck said something about cell regeneration in the secret Ring lab. Shaw shot him to reborn after with that technology. It was a trick. Ww will see chuck's father in season 4.
I agree with you Antonio. I think his Father is alive but I do not think that it was a setup. I do however think that his father's "death" is very closely related to his mother having to be moved. I am sure that there is some correlation.

I believe they are using Anniversary as a way to tie in alot of things..reading alot of the comments, everyone could be right? why does it have to be just one or even two events that make up the title. Obviously, there are a ton of "Anniversaries" happening in the show and with the creativeness of the storylines so far..it could be a ton of different anniversaries going off at the same time that are all tied together in some fashion.
